Unofficial Game Boy Advance Accessories

In addition to the range of official Nintendo accessories, there are a number of other peripherals offered by third parties.

Afterburner

An internal front-lighting system that required the owner to disassemble the system, remove some plastic form the interior of the case, attach the lighting mechanism to the screen, and solder two wires to the motherboard for power. In addition, an optional potentiometer could be added to enable adjustment of the light's brightness.

GBA Movie Player (GBAMP)

A versatile gaming cartridge that allows people to watch films (e.g. MPEGs), play NES/Famicom games, see .txt files and listen to sound clips. Although the GBA Movie Player does not actually play MP3s or MPEGs directly, a freeware conversion may be used to convert an array of formats into ones that are compatible with the device.

GBA TV Tuner

A device available from a number of different companies that turns the portable console into a portable television. The most popular TV Tuner requires a cartridge inserted in the Tuner to start up, and can store up to 99 channels.

Game Shark

A cheat device that allows users to enter cheat codes by hand or by uploading to the device using a USB cable and software.

Action Replay

A cheat device that succeeded the Game Shark, which had an updated interface and extra features.

Action Replay MAX Duo

An updated version of the Action Replay cheat device.

Worm Cam

A device made by Nyko that attaches to the top of the GBA and connects into the link port to act as a digital camera. The photos can be uploaded to a PC using a USB cable and provided software.
